Consideration of the causes and intervention of inner thigh gait in children

■What is inner thigh gait?

Inner thigh gait refers to a state in which the axis of the foot is always facing inward in relation to a straight line in the direction of walking or traveling. The femur, lower leg, and talus neck change from their state at birth to adulthood as they grow. Normally, the angle of anterior twisting of the femur decreases with growth, the lower femur is externally rotated, and the angle of adduction of the talus cervical angle decreases.

This affects the growth and twisting of each skeletal system due to the child's behavior, sleeping position, sitting habit, and play limb position in the growth process of gross motor movement from childhood, and is finally expressed as the orientation of the foot when walking. It is also possible that the development of functional nerves is affected by prolonged games and study, and as a result, postural control is not functioning well.

■ Gross motion error (shortcut)
Gross exercise refers to movements such as crawling, raising, standing, sitting, maintaining posture, walking, and running, which are the foundation of a baby's daily life during the growth stage.

The motor nerves transmitted from the brain start from the head and travel to the legs, from top to bottom. The order in which the baby can move is also in the order of head→ yoke→ arms→ back→ hips→ legs. Along with this trend, gross motor skills that can be done will also develop. As a result, sensory integration is achieved. In this flow, error is, for example, standing without crawling is like moving on to the next step without using your arms too much, so sensory integration may not work well.

* What is sensory integration?
The human senses have five senses(Touch, sight, hearing, taste, smell)In addition to proprioception, proprioception(Sensation of muscle expansion and contraction and joint movement), vestibular satoru(Sensations such as balance, balance, and speed of the body)There are a total of 7 senses.
Sensory integration is the organization and classification of these seven senses that try to enter the body one after another.

In the next article, I will explain the "proprioception" in this sensory integration.
