Inner crotch walking test of elementary school students (tibia volvulus)

There is a test to evaluate the torsion of the tibia as a test method for inner thigh gait.
The torsion state of the tibia relative to the femur is measured with a special protractor.
The elementary school student (9 years old) in this photo had an internal twist of 12 degrees in his left leg and an external twist of 8 degrees in his right foot. Since the left side twist is a little strong, I treated the twist of the trunk and made a treatment plan that included exercises that allowed me to use the floor reaction force firmly.

The following is a general tibial torsion test and its evaluation.

For tibial torsion,There are outward twists (external twists) and inward twists (internal twists). External twisting of the tibia is a normal phenomenon that occurs with growth.,It varies from 0° at birth to 20° in adulthood. External twisting is rarely a problem.
Internal twisting is commonly seen at birth,,Typically disappears with growth. however,Excessive torsion can be due to problems with the neuromuscular system. Torsion can also occur with Blount's disease ( hip, legs, and congenital anomalies of the feet : varus knee and valgus knee). If excessive torsion persists for a long time,It may come with internal rotation gait or O-legged.
To evaluate tibial torsion,The angle between the axis of the foot and the femoral axis will be measured with the knee joint flexed at 90° in the prone position. Typically,The axis of the foot is facing 10° outward to the femoral axis.
